How To Get Rid Of Belly Fat

by admin on August 2, 2010

Belly fat is probably the most stubborn fat in your entire body. Whatever you eat seems to go straight to your belly. Sometimes, you just wish the fat would just move to your arms or legs and spread out in your entire body. But sadly it is not possible. The only way to lose belly fat is to actually create a calorie deficit in your body.

Common Doubt:   But I am not Fat, I just have a little belly fat that I want to lose.

It really doesn’t matter if you want to lose fat from your entire body or from just one part of your body. The only way to lose fat is to create a calorie deficit. There is no other way to burn the fat in your body. ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER WAY. If anyone tells you otherwise, run as far as you can. Run and hide, because they are going to waste your precious time and hard earned money.

Listen, I am not trying to be rude, but there are so many magic pills and crazy diets on the internet that it makes me sad to see what people will do to make a quick buck. Any website selling you those magical pills that make you get rid of belly fat without working out are just scams and I am not afraid to say it. The health industry has become really corrupted as these companies give people false hope and try to sell them B.S.

Now that we have got that straight, let’s get back to what will actually help you get rid of that belly fat. Creating a calorie deficit in your body means that your body should burn more calories than it is consuming. It is as simple as that. The food that we eat contains calories and to survive we burn calories. If we burn more than we eat, then we are burning the fat stored in the body. If we eat more than we burn, then the excess energy is stored as fat in the body.

There are two ways to create a calorie deficit in your body –

  1. Burn more calories than you eat
  2. Eat less calories than you burn

Let’s explore each one in detail

BURNING MORE CALORIES THAN YOU EAT:

Suppose your RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate)is 1800 calories. This means that for your body to survive, it will require 1800 calories. Let’s assume that you eat 1800 calories worth of food in a day. So, your body is getting exactly the amount of calories that it requires. So your weight remains the same, and the fat deposited in your belly stays there.

Now if you somehow increase your RMR to 2200 and you are still eating 1800 calories per day you are creating a calorie deficit of 400 calories. This means that your body will burn 400 calories of fat to produce that energy. And so, around .11 lb of fat (1 lb of fat = 3500 calories) is burnt from your body. Some of this .11 lb came from your belly and now you are getting rid of some of that fat. Continue this for a week or so and you will see some noticeable result in your body.

How do you increase RMR?

RMR aka your metabolism can be increased by eating the right food and exercising. Also, the more muscles in your body the higher your RMR and the more lean you are, the higher your RMR.

But increasing your RMR alone is not as effective because it cannot be increased over night. You increase your RMR slowly with exercising and proper dieting.

And if you exercise, and you don’t take care of your diet, then you will probably end up eating a lot more than you used to eat. This is why it is very important to combine this with the second method that is

EAT LESS CALORIES

It is quite simple. In the above example, if your RMR is 1800 and you start eating only 1500 calories per day, you can lose 300 calories of fat every day.

Eating the right food with the right amount of exercises can skyrocket your metabolism. That means you can easily lose up to 400-500 calories of fat(.15 lbs) per day by just eating the right food in the right proportion. That means you can get rid of around 4-5 lbs of belly fat in a month by following this simple principle.

Many people are under the misconception that doing sit ups and abs exercises will get you to lose weight. They cannot be further from the truth. In reality, you don’t have to do any abs exercises at all. If you want to get rid of belly fat, you can do it simply by eating the right food in the right quantity and creating a calorie deficit in your body. And if you do the right type of exercises (hint: it’s not boring cardio) you can skyrocket your metabolism and get rid of that stubborn belly fat in no time.

On the other hand, what most people do is hit the gym hard without giving a second thought to their diet and without understanding what type of exercises get rid of belly fat. The result is that they spend time doing boring cardio which actually is detrimental to getting rid of belly fat.  And after they work out, they come home and eat a lot of so called health food which isn’t really what the big companies advertise it to be. The result is that they are actually decreasing their metabolism rate which results in long term FAT GAIN and not FAT LOSS.

What Food to Eat, How to Calculate the Calories, And What Exercises To Do?

There are many theories about different foods and everyday some new diet is coming which claims to be the new miracle diet. But the bottom line is, you should only eat natural food for maximum fat loss. Avoid processed food at all cost.

I have tried a lot of diets in the last 5 years and haven’t been impressed by any of them. Most of them were crash diet and once they were over, I ended up gaining more weight than I lost. But from all this experience I realized to have to adopt a diet which I can follow all the time. In essence, adopt a lifestyle of healthy eating. And by healthy, I don’t mean the health food you see on the super market shelf. Most of that is just a product of BS advertising. But actual healthy food which has been proven by countless scientific studies and experienced nutritionist.

And when it comes to exercises, I find it maddening at how many misinformed gym trainers are out there. What they are asking people to do to get rid of belly fat is actually making people gain fat. The exercises that actually help in getting rid of belly fat are the exact opposite of what these gym trainers are preaching. I have a short presentation for you to watch. Click on the link below to find out which exercises and which food is actually going to help you get rid of that stubborn belly fat.
